Reconstructing Mission: The Church in Africa in the Service of Justice, Peace and Reconciliation

What does reconstructing mission mean? Is there a need for it? How can the church in Africa be better equipped to carry out its missionary mandate?
Mission implies the calling of the church to express the love, power and creativity of the Triune God who sustains and rules the universe, and who sent Jesus Christ into the world as healing, liberating saviour, and who will bring about final reconciliation and restoration, to be salt in an earth full of wealth and potential, but held captive by poverty, misfortune, disease and wars, to be the light of the world in Africa, a continent with a mature Christian faith but with ethnic animosity, superficial faith and divisions.
