2021: UPDATE – Refuge and Strength

29th – 31st October 2021  Rydal Hall, Cumbria
Flyer with details of the 2021 conference. Please contact admin [at] for information In a change to our previously advertised theme, we are pleased to welcome Michael and Maureen Hawksworth who will update us about LEARN, their charity in Nepal, and John and Sharon Harbottle who will tell us about their work in Haiti and also the responses to the recent earthquake.  To book, please contact ku.gro.tsaen.mwmnull@nimda

Education is a right, not a privilege.  However, 61 million children are not in school.  Michael and Maureen will tell us about the work of their charity LEARN on Friday evening.  Lifechanging Education for All in Rural Nepal works to realise the vision of Devi Prasad to provide a high level of education which could be acc>essed by all children without prejudice.

Jesus, in the parable of the Good Samaritan, explained how “He went to him and bandaged his wounds […] and took care of him” (Luke 10:34).  On 14th August 2021, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck the Tiburon Peninsula in Haiti, larger than the previous devastating earthquake in 2010.  UNICEF estimates that at least 650,000 people were affected and need humanitarian aid.  Hear from Sharon & John Harbottle, who returned from working in Haiti in 2019, about their work and also the responses to the recent disaster.

If you require crèche facilities or a children’s programme then please let us know and we will be in touch for further details. For any enquiries, or to book your place, please contact Alan Cunningham on ku.gro.tsaEN.MWMnull@nimdA
